A Little About Myself

Hello everyone my name is Brandon Mora and I am just your average friendly awkward fellow. I am a mixture of Latino roots in my family. My father was born and raised in Mexico and immigrated to the US in the 80s. My mother was born in the US but my grandpa was entirely Peruvian and my grandma was half Peruvian and half Bolivian. Thus I am a Peruvian/Mexican/Bolivian American. What I mainly enjoyed about having different roots was the food. I greatly enjoy trips to Mexico as I feast on authentic Mexican food such as tacos, pozole, mole, barbacoa, and menudo. Sadly I have only traveled to Peru once when I was in the fifth grade. The trip to Peru was amazing, I got to visit Cuzco which was the city closest to Machu Pichu as well as I actually visited Machu Pichu which was one of the most beautiful sights I have seen in my life. As it lays upon the mountain, I examined the rock formations in Machu Pichu and I also got to see a llama on the mountain. The only problem I had on the trip to Peru was the altitude, since Cuzco lies at a high altitude my body was not accustomed to the height change and I was sick for half the trip. However, the mouthwatering meals of tallarine verde, tallarine saltado, pollo empanazado, and the various types of potatoes helped me cope with the height difference. Furthermore, some sports that interested me in high school were cross county, track, water polo and tennis. What I enjoyed about cross country was the scenery as you ran multiple miles while in track I loved the rush of adrenaline you feel as you run a short distance. In water polo I loved the excitement and speed of the game as well as how intense it go and in tennis I loved the bonds I formed with my fellow teammates since we all knew each other. I am from Norwalk which is southeast of Los Angeles. I was officially born in Torrance and lived in Downey until I was five and I have lived in Norwalk for the rest of my life. Currently I am a first year in college and I am an actuarial science major and am hoping to double major in computer science. Along with that I am beginning to relearn how to play the piano and live in the Santa Rosa dorm. The classes I am in this quarter are Econ 2, Math 4A, Computer Science 16, Writing 2 and Ballroom Dance which I know I will enjoy. If anyone would like to get in contact with me or has any questions for me, my email is brandmo2007@gmail.com.
